Silent Auction
The Estuary Working Group is holding an ART and LITERATURE competition and silent auction from December to May.
Join us to inspire the vision and open the dialogue for creating the return of abundance by preserving the Courtenay River Estuary.
This includes
- An online gallery January to May, 2010 publicized throughout B.C.
- One work of each, visual and literary, to be exhibited on a monthly news page in the Record.
- One month show at various public locations throughout the Comox Valley in May
- Cash prizes for Juror’s Choice, People’s Choice and Artist’s Choice
- Opportunity for art work to serve as next year’s promotional image for the Estuary Working Group ‘s vision of “Keeping it Living”
Details
- An image of the artwork will be requested in JPEG or PDF format via e-mail after payment of the entry fee ($20 Art x 2 / $10 Literary) and a completed online entry form has been received. (If the artist is unable to send their submission in an electronic format, it may be dropped off on CD/DVD/Flash drive at Project Watershed’s offices on 5th Street, above The Golden Carriage Restaurant.) The image must be submitted by April 30th, 2010
- Please note the actual online silent auction will commence on 7 April and run until 27 May 2010.
- All mediums accepted including but not limited to: painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, pottery, glasswork, metalwork , fiberarts…
- All artwork must be your own original work
- Literary works max 300 words and must be framed to hang or stand in an 8×10 frame (literary works will not be sold)
- All 2D artwork max size 36” x 36” must be framed and/or ready to hang
- All entries must be for sale, artists receive 50%, Project Watershed 50% – no tax receipts will be issued
- All artwork will be juried during the one month exhibit in May
- Keeping it Living retains the right to refuse work
- Payout for work will be within one month of sale
- Cheques will be mailed to the address given on the online entry from
- Keeping it Living will notify the artist of the venue that will be displaying their piece for the month long exhibit in May
- It is the artist’s reponsibilty to deliver their piece to the specified venue
- Art work that is not sold must be picked up by the artist
~ If the artist is unable to access the online system they can drop off their digital image, fill out the form and make payment at Project Watershed Offices on 5th street above the Golden Carriage Restaurant ~
